        • Clothing:
Casual, comfortable clothing is suitable year-round.
Dull, neutral colors are best for blending into the bush.
T-shirts and safari trousers (or jeans) are ideal.
A fleece or warm sweater is recommended for chilly mornings and evenings.
Light long-sleeve shirts help with sun protection.
In winter months (June–August), mornings can be very cold — pack in layers.
        • Accessories & Essentials:
          Good quality sunglasses.
Sunblock, a wide-brimmed hat, and insect repellent.
Binoculars and a camera (with extra batteries or charger).
Personal medication (a basic medical kit is provided).
        • Practical Advice:
Space is limited — travel as light as possible.
You may be exposed to the sun for long periods, so cover up when necessary.
Bring appropriate visas for your nationality.
If you have traveled to a yellow fever area, ensure you have the vaccination certificate.
        • Extra Tip:
Don’t forget your sense of humor and spirit of adventure — this is Africa!
        What to bring

          Clothing

          • Light, loose-fit fabrics that dry quickly in tranquil/neutral colours
          • A warm sweater or jacket and a scarf (mornings and evenings get very cold; game drives especially!)
          • Shorts are fine in the bush, but long trousers are more appropriate in villages
          • Casual wear is perfectly acceptable in safari camps
          • A squashable hat and good UV-protection sunglasses are essential
          • Avoid camouflage or military-style clothing — not appropriate in Africa and may draw police attention
          • Comfortable lightweight footwear with ankle support; make sure you can walk in them for extended periods
          • Several pairs of thin socks (layering is more comfortable than one thick pair)

          Useful Safari Tools

          • Binoculars (perfect for wildlife spotting from camp or vehicle)
          • Camera (with spare batteries/memory cards)
          • Inexpensive waterproof watch (leave valuables/jewelry at home)
          • Sunblock and lip balm
          • Small pocket torch
          • Insect repellent
          • Personal reusable water bottle (though most camps provide one)

          Extra Comfort

          • Camps often provide “bush babies” (hot water bottles) to keep you warm at night — a safari treat you’ll quickly learn to love!
